Process steam boiler is a key component in most refinery applications. An integrated TRICON 3703E system combines the protection of the boiler from interfering conditions, safety interlocks for normal startup and shutdown, and flame safety applications. In traditional applications, these functions must be provided by separate, non integrated components. However, through the fault-tolerant and fault-safe TRICON controller, boiler operators can use key resources more efficiently and maintain the safety at or above the level of electromechanical protection system.
The 3703E and protection of gas turbine or steam turbine requires a high degree of integrity and safety. The continuous operation of the fault-tolerant TRICON controller provides maximum availability to the turbine operator while maintaining the same level of safety. Speed control and start-up and shutdown sequencing are implemented in a single integrated system. The use of hot spare parts for I / O modules can avoid unplanned interruptions. If a module fails, the replacement module is automatically activated without operator intervention.
